Blood Donation Campaign

On November 29, 2024, a significant socio-civic event unfolded in Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. The Blood Donation Campaign, facilitated by the King Fahd Military Medical Complex (KFMMC) Blood Donation Unit headed by Mr. Mohammed Qahtani, was a collaboration of various Filipino community organizations. The event was spearheaded by the Altruism Dammam Black Gold Eagles Club (ADBGEC), in cooperation with the Knights of Rizal (KOR) - Eastern Province Chapter, Las Damas De Rizal Saudi Arabia Chapter, Philippine Professional Organization Saudi Arabia (PPO-SA), The SABGEER II Region (TFOE -PE), and supported by groups such as the PDA-FDK Khobar Chapter, GMACPAO Eagles Club, DBGSEC, DEPBGEC, DEPBGLEC, among others.

The campaign began with a brief program where leaders of the participating organizations and donors were introduced. Following this, the President of ADBGEC gave a warm welcome address, highlighting the importance of the event and explaining the procedures for blood donation. As the donors lined up to give their blood, a sense of camaraderie and unity filled the air, making the atmosphere both solemn and uplifting.

Once all the donations were made, the program continued with a heartfelt ceremony where every donor received a Certificate of Appreciation. The clubs and organizations involved were also acknowledged for their efforts, and the staff of the KFMMC Blood Donation Unit were given well-deserved recognition for their dedication and support.

The drive, which concluded at 2:00 pm, was more than just a blood donation event; it was a testament to the strength and solidarity of the Filipino community in Saudi Arabia. Through this campaign, lives were not only potentially saved, but the bonds within the community were further strengthened, showing that even far from home, the spirit of bayanihan (community spirit) thrives.

In the end, the Blood Donation Campaign wasn't just about giving blood. It was about giving hope, fostering unity, and reinforcing the collective strength of the Filipino community. Every drop of blood donated was a drop of hope, a symbol of life, and a testament to the unbreakable spirit of compassion and togetherness.
