A Day of Gratitude and Giving Back

The crisp morning air on September 19, 2025, at Ras Tanura Beach was filled with an energy that was palpable. As the sun began to paint the sky, the serene coastline transformed into a bustling hub of purpose. We, the Altruism Eagles, were honored to join hands with the GMACPAO, Inc., the Ras Tanura Municipality, and the vibrant Filipino Community. together with the Saudi Arabian Eagles Eastern Region II (SAEER II) for a special Coastal Clean-up drive celebrating the 95th Saudi National Day.

Arriving at 6:00 a.m., we were met with a sea of enthusiastic faces—nearly 150 individuals from various Filipino communities, all ready to work. The program commenced with a warm welcome from the Ras Tanura Municipality Representative, setting a tone of partnership and shared responsibility. The weather was beautiful, the gentle sea breeze a perfect companion to our mission.

This day was about more than just picking up trash; it was a profound act of giving back. For us, a clean-up drive is a way of saying "thank you" to Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom has been a home and a place of immense opportunity for so many Filipinos, and we believe it's our duty to show our gratitude through our actions. We were so proud to see our community members dedicate their time and effort to beautify the very shores that have welcomed them.

The spirit of altruism soared like an eagle that day. It was truly inspiring to witness the teamwork—families and friends working together, with laughter and friendly chatter echoing across the beach. Our youngest participants—students from Dammam, accompanied by their teachers and principals—reminded us that the future of our planet lies in the hands of the next generation. Their dedication was a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of a caring community.

The day was further enriched by the presence of a medical mission, a thoughtful addition that highlighted the holistic care we strive to promote. It was a beautiful representation of our community's commitment to well-being, both for the environment and for each other.

As we packed up, the beach looked pristine, but what was truly transformed was our spirit. This event was a powerful reminder of the deep bond between the Filipino community and our Saudi hosts. It was a day of hard work, yes, but more importantly, it was a celebration of hospitality, partnership, and the joy of giving back. We are grateful for the opportunity to have played a part in this meaningful tribute, and we can’t wait to embark on our next journey of altruism.
